I read an interesting article in the register earlier this month mentioning how Chrome is gaining market share in browser popularity over Firefox and IE. I have nothing against Chrome but personally I am a Firefox man since my early development life due to the variety of developers plug-ins.

I wonder thou when these stats were complied was there any thoughts taken to understand that a number of users disable tracking by using plug-ins such as Ghostery? I know I do at home. I for one don’t like statics been collected on me without prior notice.

Nevertheless I think Chrome’s popularity is a good thing. Whether you trust Google or not, at least the general public seem to be getting the idea that they have a wider choice now.

Plus one thing is starting to get annoying with is that a new release is been banged every other week; breaking most of my plugins. (Roll back time again). Of course the blame could be shifted to the plugins providers but still…

I could yet be a converter to Chrome who knows what the future holds.

Am interested as developers what do you look for when choosing a browser? And do you use one browser for development and other for general browsing?
